Glad I Met You

From Passion Pit's drummer, comes D. Gookin and a really good e.p. called When You're Lonely Everybody's A Celebrity. Have a listen....

D. Gookin - Glad I Met You

River Reflexive

Power pop from the east coast. Visit Hopeful Monster's blog, myspace or website to snatch up more. This one is from his self-titled debut.

Sin Fang Bous

From the founding member of Seabear, came Sin Fang Bous' mostly overlooked Clangour, released on Morr Music December '08. Here's the first track from one of my favourite albums from last year.

Deastro

Like a sucker for good synth-pop, I've been liking one of Ghostly's latest signings, Deastro, a lot lately.

Our Brother The Megazord - Inventor Adventure Club
(from Time The Teenage Twister, available for free, here)

Deastro - The Shaded Forests
(from Keeper's, out now on Ghostly)

Check his blog and Ghostly for more good (free) stuff. And keep an eye out for Moondagger, a kind of greatest hits album, dropping June 23rd.

Jigsaw

The pieces of the puzzle that went into making Jigsaw's 1975 album, Sky High, were smooth rock and disco. The result is sugary sweet orchestral pop that reminds me a bit of ELO.

Interesting info on the title track from wikipedia: A famous Mexican wrestler called Mil Mascaras used "Sky High" as his theme tune. He would walk to the ring with the song playing in the background. His popularity in Japan helped "Sky High" to become a hit twice over in that country in consecutive years.

"Hey,
Just received a good power-pop comp called Yellow Pills. Here's a couple of choice examples.
Later,
